Daily Bible Reading: 1 Kings 8; 2 Chronicles 5

1 Kings 8:63-64 KJV — And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord. [64] The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord…

Solomon, from our text, offered a manner of offering that outweighs what anyone has ever given at once, which indicates how much he sought God.

A very notable truth from the scripture is that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb 11:6). What’s the evidence of your diligence in seeking God? No one sought God diligently and never found Him. God enlightens those who seek Him.

1 Kings 3:5 KJV — In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

Solomon was blessed of God because of his diligence in seeking God. If Solomon offered this much, can we approach God’s throne with a multitude of thanksgiving and praises? God loves it when it comes from a heart of diligence. Engage your whole heart in seeking God.

Summary: In the chapters read today (1 Kgs 8, 2 Chr 5), we read about the dedication of the temple and saw how Solomon sought God and offered sacrifices unto God consistently.
